Cleaning procedure is essential for each and every type of tool, equipment or system available in pharmaceutical industry.

It is not just a measure of removing contaminants but it is also directly linked with the quality of the product being manufactured. Therefore the raw materials used in the product must be pure, one of which is water which is directly or indirectly linked with the production of the pharmaceutical product.

The basic part of a water system is the holding tank which serves as the first part after receiving water from the bore well.

The following is the simple procedure that is mostly utilized by various pharmaceutical firms to clean the tanks.

CLEANING AND SANITATION OF RAW WATER TANK: 

UntitledThe final wash water is collected and the pH of the sample must range between 7.0 ± 2.0. It’s mandatory that the water meet the specifications as per Quality Control. The frequency of cleaning of raw water storage tank should be every 15 days. (frequency may vary)

CLEANING AND SANITATION OF PURIFIED WATER TANK:

Frequency shall fixed on the trend analysis at stage of IInd phase of qualification.

Recording of cleaning shall be done in respective records.
